DECEMBER 2018 COLUMN
2018 has been another good year for the Recovery Centre, support for the Centre is what keeps it going, some of our Sponsors have been with us for many years, like Mike Daniel, NorthPower, Bayer NZ Ltd, Sophie Edwards, Northland seed supplies, Northland Regional Council, Carter Holt Harvey, Mill Road vets and Northland Districts Security.
This year we had CivilTrain, Rainbows Relics, Carters and Renovation Warehouse.
There are many others as well so a very big thank you all from all of us at the Recovery Centre.
Our open hours are the same everyday over Christmas, on the weekends only Robyn and I run the Centre and we like to catch up at our home and do a few other things which means we don’t get to the Centre before 5.00pm, Birds can still be put in the cages on the deck at the Centre and if you leave a contact number we will let you know how your Bird is getting on, by leaving your contact details it also means we know where the Bird will be released once its better.
When phoning the Centre please leave a short message and contact number so we can get back to you, sometimes we are working outside and can’t get to the phone in time.
When finding a Bird please just keep it warm and quiet, no food or water, this may sound strange, but all Birds have a very high stress level, so food or water will do more harm than good.
If you have time, visit the recovery Centre and have a look around, you never know what we may have in at the time.
Robyn and I would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New year.
We welcome your donation to help us continue with the important work of the centre.
Our sponsors make the centre possible and we sincerely value their support.
We have compiled some top tips on how you can help an injured animal.
